Maltco Lotteries Hosts the 12th European Lotteries University
The "12th European Lotteries University" (ELU) which was held in Malta between 31st August and 4th September, 2009 was hosted by MALTCO Lotteries. The 12th ELU was attended by over forty participants from more than twenty countries in Europe and Canada.
The European Lotteries University has the objective of providing expert and updated insights into the Lottery and Gaming industry, providing participants with a unique forum to network and exchange ideas and to enhance their general business and managerial skills and knowledge.
Keynote addresses were delivered on a wide range of subjects by practitioners and leading experts working or consulting with lotteries. The keynote speeches addressed the topics of New Technology Trends, Corporate Social Responsibility, Legal Matters, Future of Lotteries and Loyalty Programmes, Marketing and Communications.
In his keynote address on Gaming and Risk Management, Mr. Mario Cassar, General Director of MALTCO LOTTERIES, stressed the importance of risk management for the design and evolution of lottery games. He also emphasised its importance for the games’ public image and acceptance, because of its direct bearing on matters relating to social responsibility.
